Early Life and Career
Born and raised in Sadat City, Egypt, it seems quite unlikely that Ammar would end up making content all over the world while being based in Canada. However, his journey started after he enrolled in the African Leadership Academy in South Africa. Thereafter, during the Egyptian Revolution, he studied at Quest University on a scholarship before earning citizenship of Saint Kitts and Nevis. This served as a stepping stone to the next stage in his life as a Saint Kitts and Nevis passport allowed him to travel visa-free to over 150 countries and also helped him avoid Egypt’s compulsory military draft designated for men aged 18 to 30.
As a director, Ammar has managed to work on three very highly-rated films namely, “The Lost Pyramid”, “Yes Theory”, and “Project Iceman”. He has also written “Free Child”, a short film released in 2020. Due to his impressive work in filmmaking, Ammar has managed to rake in a couple of awards including the Los Angeles Film Awards Best Picture Award 2023, Best Documentary Feature, and also the Riviera International Film Festival Best Documentary award, all for the film, Project Iceman.
Yes Theory
The Canadian digital media brand which is fashioned around the YouTube channel under the same name, has a very interesting background. Ammar co-founded YES-theory alongside three like-minded ‘strangers’ who soon became his best friends and business partners. The members of YES-theory are Thomas Brag, Matt Dahlia, and Derin Emre.
It was formerly known as Generation Y Not before shifting to the now popular name, ‘YES-theory’. The camaraderie of four first gained nationwide popularity after they released their message of inclusivity in light of terror attacks that occurred in Beirut and Paris around November 2015. Since then, they have focused on exploring different cultures in an interesting and engaging way and usually seek to promote positivity and open-mindedness wherever they go.
Personal Life
Being a very low-key person, information about Ammar’s personal life is very scarce. He has however shared photos of his late father, his mother, and his sister. He is very close to his family and never shies off from showering them with love and affection on his Instagram page. Regarding his love life, it appears Ammar is actually single, leaving room only for rumors of who he’s dating at the moment.
