After completing his studies at the University of Richmond School of Law, Qasim embarked on a career that is worthy of his expertise. His first job came in February 2011 when he worked at the University of Richmond as a research assistant, he served in the role until May 2012. From December 2011 to March 2015 he served as a pro bono attorney at Virginia Poverty Law Center in Richmond, Virginia.
While in this role, he was tasked with legal assistance to victims of domestic and sexual violence. From December 2012 to May 2016, he served as a manager and counsel for Capital One in Richmond, Virginia. he served as a legal loss mitigation attorney having been trained in FDCPA and SCRA compliance.
In this role, Qasim helped build, implement, and monitor nationwide protocols to ensure alignment with CFPB, OCC, and FTC bulletins and guidance. His area of focus is in the credit card and mortgage industries.
From May 2016 to April 2017, he served as a director of civil rights and policy at Karamah: Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights.
